Comparison: Which Website Builder Should I Use?
We’ve talked about website design in the past, which is a REALLY exciting step of the website creation process.
But what happens after you design the website of your dreams? You need to start building it, of course.
And we have a few things to tell you once you reach that step.
First of all CONGRATULATIONS! This means that you are about to start something new for your business and life and we’re SO excited for you!
And second of all, here’s an important question: do you know which website builder you’re going to use?
If you’re not too sure, then we’re here to make your life a little easier. We’re comparing 4 of the most popular website builders: Wix, Divi, Elementor and Squarespace.
Are you ready? Let’s dive into it.
01 Wix
Pros
Offers the most flexibility from a design perspective.
We could say that it’s one of the most user-friendly tools.
They offer a wide variety of templates, which is great for design purposes.
Cons
It’s really hard and almost impossible to move from Wix to another builder. This is a huge disadvantage if your business grows and you need other options.
Can be glitchy and certain elements can shift without warning.
It’s hard to optimize your website because you don’t have a lot of control over the elements you need to change in order to have better Google punctuation.
02 Divi
Pros
Allows for complete optimization for desktop and mobile.
Divi is a pretty intuitive builder.
It has a really good analytics feature that allows you to do split testing so you can try different things and see what is working and what isn’t working on your copy or design.
Cons
Certain elements aren’t automatically added to responsive versions
There is some rigidity to how much you can tweak Divi’s templates without coding experience.
There are certain things that only experienced developers and designers can do.
03 Elementor
Pros
Really simple to install and the builder itself offers a free version.
Powerful integrations with other tools and templates.
You are going to find many free tutorials about Elementor, which make it easy to use.
Cons
The sidebar tool can affect sizing and spacing.
Not as intuitive as other builders.
The most useful widgets are in the pro version.
04 Squarespace
Pros
New version 7.1 allows for much more design flexibility & ease of use.
They offer many templates that are ready to use.
Cons
HTML & CSS code is needed for simple functions that most other builders offer.
There is no support for third-party apps, plugins, or extensions.
You won’t find much variety in marketing tools.
Every tool in the world is going to have its pros and cons because every user has different needs.
